Purpose:
The Nexus provides young adults with a premiere internship experience designed to help discern vocational calling. Graduates will be well prepared for leadership inside and outside of the church.
Vision:
More and more people are identifying as “none” or “done” when it comes to religion and spirituality.
While the reasons are numerous, complex, and well documented, one aspect of this trend is the loss of imagination for what the church could be and how to participate in creating a different future.
Discovery Christian Church is uniquely positioned to help create that different future. Each year 30,000 undergraduate students come to our city to study, dream, and prepare for the future. These students are aspirational, talented, and ready to make an impact on the world.
We believe that the future church leaders are right here on our campus and in our city.
The Nexus is a 12-month-long internship program in which Discovery invites graduates to spend a year in Davis experiencing life in the church in a profound and immersive way. Nexus interns will be invested in by a variety of wise and talented leaders as part of a process designed to help interns discern God’s call on their lives.
Graduates of the Nexus will go on to become Discovery staff, staff at other churches, Elders, non-profit leaders, entreprenuerial dreamers, and disciples of Jesus who desire to create a new narrative and future for the Church.
