Hello Discovery Family,

Yesterday afternoon Yolo County released these guidelines for religious institutions and other larger public gatherings in response to COVID-19. 

It is our mission to help people discover the good news of Jesus, and a way for us to be good news to the school we meet in, to our neighbors, and to the city we love is to pause our Sunday morning Gatherings.

For now, we are officially cancelling our March 15th Gathering, and tentatively cancelling the 22nd and 29th (per the County guidelines), while awaiting further news and instructions.

We believe that our community is especially well suited for a moment such as this. We love our Sunday morning gatherings, but we know that being the church and serving God’s mission is so much bigger than an “event.” So much of our life as a church revolves around Groups and Generosity, and so we will continue meeting and serving in those contexts until we can Gather again in the, hopefully, very near future.

Also, interestingly, our next community Practice is Silence and Solitude. We are going to work hard to get you the content we would provide under normal circumstances as best we can. We will continue to process these Practices in groups. And, we are working on some video and live-streaming options, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, let us be in prayer as a community for this moment: for those who are working on the front lines caring for people and making decisions, for those who are sick, for protection over the healthy, for wisdom, and for the peace of Christ to reign in our hearts.
