Hello Discovery Family!

Thank you, once again, for excelling in generosity, demonstrated this week through another successful backpack drive. I had the privilege of dropping off 20 backpacks on Friday and another 30 on Monday morning to the great joy of Deysi, the Student Success and Program Supervisor at Montgomery Elementary.

She sent me this note last week: “Thank you Discovery for your generosity towards our students. For years, you have been helping all our students [at MME] get their academic years off to great starts and on equal footing thanks to your donations. This can make a significant difference in a student’s experience at school, which can, in turn, change the trajectory of their lives. We appreciate you all so much!”

Pretty cool! 

As we move through transition as a church, as we start a new school year, as we welcome UC Davis students back into our community, may we not lose sight of Jesus’ invitation to be good neighbors (Luke 10:25-37) to each other and to the people around us, all of whom are desperate for good news!
