Hi! My name is Albert Ke and I’m one of the hosts for the East Davis Neighborhood Community. It’s been a lot of fun gathering as a Neighborhood Community the past few months and getting to know each other as we eat together, share about our weeks, and play with the kids. Or just hang out! A couple of weeks ago, some of us went downtown together to see the tree lighting.

I’ve also really enjoyed our conversations through the “Discovery Bible Study” format. It only consists of four simple questions, but I think the questions do a good job at allowing people to bring in their own experiences and perspectives. Even when the stories we discussed were ones I’d heard many times before, I would leave with something new each time.

Another highlight is all the ways people have pitched in to make Neighborhood Community happen - hosting, cooking dinner for the group, bringing side dishes, facilitating discussions, suggesting fun activities for us to do together, and more. I’m looking forward to spending more time together, getting to know each other more, and becoming a community that is more and more able to feel like home for new people and serve the greater Davis community together!
